1955 Chris Craft 21' Capri - Full Restoration project.

The 331 Chrysler Hemi was removed and the boat was turned over ready to remove the bottom.

The bottom is being removed.

One half of the bottom removed.

Inner layer of diaginal planking going on like original bottom


The inner layer is on. Instead of the original canvis we used 6 oz. cloth to seal the inner layer. Now the bottom planks are being fitted

The outter planks are installed bedded in 3M 5200 caulk. The original planks were used as patterns to make the but joints in the same place.


The bottom planks were sealed with Smiths penatrating epoxy, the under side of the planks were sealed with Smiths before being bedded back on

All new hull planks are being installed

Boat being turned over to start on upper plank and deck

Deck being removed

New covering boards being made

All new deck framing

Stern deck being done

All the deck frames, battens and blocking are done

1/4" saple plywood was put over the intire deck

Deck planks are being fitted

All new deck boards are in place. Just need to make the stern covering board. Then its time for every ones favorite thing, lots of sanding.
